Motion was made by karl E. Peters to permanently remove Joe Baptista from membership in the TLDA.

I hereby move that Joe Baptista be permanently
removed from membership in the Top Level Domain Association, Inc. for
the sake of the ongoing work of the organization during this very
important time. We can not afford time and energy thinking about such
distraction.

Motion was objected to by David Scott on grounds of being unaware of any supporting verbiage in the By-Laws. Such support for removal of a member was pointed to and explained, though David Scott remained uncomfortable with the ruling.
Voting was as follows: David Scott and Peter Dambier voted NEA while Karl E. Peters and Bradley Thornton voted YEA.
Calling upon the By-Law provision for a tie in the voting of the Board of Directors, Chairman Karl E. Peters cast the tie-breaking vote as YEA and the motion was passed by a margin of 3 – 2. The policy went into effect immediately.
